The LJ site is already up and working, but if there are hiccups anywhere, I should blame the dial-up Internet connection. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope that you do update your links...:)
Thank you for supporting this blogsite for sooo long (2 years). And I hope to see you on LJ!!

Guess what??
I'm going to learn how to drive! Not straight away, though. Just went for the 5-hr talk this morning. The computer test is gonna be on Wednesday next week. If I pass that, then I'll be holding on to a Kancil of my own and an L-licence! *jumps with joy*
But the downside is, I gotta nerd myself for 1 week with the damn KPP book, memorizing roadsigns, etc.
Anyway...
Rome Revisited
Had wanted to write this ages ago...but it just didn't happen. Let's just say this: The real triumvirate of the show isn't Antony, Lepidus and Octavian. It's an entirely different batch of younger, hotter looking guys with totally different personalities (as the historical triumvirate). It's Octavian (unfortunately, without Max Pirkis), Maecenas (that was his name, Bal!) and my personal favorite, Agrippa. While I enjoyed the new faces, I still feel that the second season lacked the regal feeling of when Caesar was still around. Or perhaps that was what the Romans really feel when Octavius first filled in Caesar's shoes. Or maybe Simon Wooods was miscast. While he was one of my favorite historical figures, Octavius was freakingly freaky in the second season. And his wife...God...
Everything feels so wrong. And everything moves so fast. From Octavius suddenly emerging as a new man, to the formation of the triumvirate, to Brutus and Cassius' deaths (I loved the way Brutus died, btw. It made him more manly than what Shakespeare portrayed him to be), to the UNSHOWN Battle of Actium...
Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo saved the day, obviously. (Another shallow point of why I prefer Rome 1st season-- more Vorenus in his Centurion outfit).
Battlestar Galactica
Had wanted to watch the series since I saw the Making Of show on Cinemax, like, ages ago. Now, with a long holiday on the calendar...it's deemed to be the next best thing on TV right now (after Rome). Yeah. I'm sick of Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, House, Prison Break...CSI and Heroes, even. After an overdose of the aforesaid drama series...Battlestar Galactica is refreshing. But then again, it's maybe because of Jamie Bamber.
On a different note, I may surprise you in my next post.Labels: holidays, random infatuations, tv series

I'm kinda melancholic today. Indolent, too. Being bored is boring, so I decided to list down the things I probably wouldn't have stumbled across if I hadn't come to KYUEM. (apart from medicine-related stuff, obviously)
1) His Dark Materials (by Bal)
2) Music Station -- and thus, J-Pop/J-Rock(by Aqilah)
3) Rome -- and thus, Kevin McKidd (by Mr. Fellender)
4) Julia Quinn, and thus Colin Bridgerton (by Shaz)
5) Plays at KLPAC (by Mr. Fellender)
6) RENT (by Bal/Noreen)
7) Donna Tartt (by Ms. Johnson)
8) JE fandom -- and thus, V6+Gakkou (by Aqilah)
9) Fictionpress.com (by Bal)
10) Heroes (initially by Bal and Acap Kuching, later by Aqilah+almost the whole college)
11) Little Black Dress (by Qin)
12) Evidence of John Keats' mawkishness -- and thus the birth of the "Prithee, Forlorn, Oh Folly!" cries(by Ms. Johnson & the Lang&Lit class)
13) Children of Dune -- and thus James McAvoy, the whole Dune series, Starter for Ten, The Last King of Scotland, Atonement and Becoming Jane -- (by Aqilah)
14) Pride and Prejudice (2005) -- and thus Matthew Macfadyen+Spooks/MI:5 (by Mr. Fellender/Yaya)
15) Nippolia (by Mr. Fellender and the Lang&Lit class)
another list coming up!Labels: college, random infatuations

Awards Day.
It was supposed to be the day where everyone feels happy to be justified as KYUEM graduates.
It also means goodbye.
While I wasn't as emotional as some others were, I still felt the after-effects of the situation. I was numb during the whole ceremony, listening to my MP3 player during speeches, making lame jokes with Farah Amami, Wei Han, Faie and Qin...until when they were about to announce the 5 award recipients.
To simplify the whole story, let's just say that the MARA rep could've fainted/choked on his chewing gum with joy. Feera, Shahrin, Wawan, Yaya. You guys made us proud.
Until Bal's chopped liver comment. Hehehe.
Oh, wtf. Garnet dinner soon commences, with me hanging out at One Utama with Faie and Zata (thus reviving our Makan Talam memories as we gobbled up our Shepherd's Pie and slurped out ice blendeds at Secret Recipe). And then again, the same table seating at Restoran Puteri a few hours later.
To be frank, the Garnet dinner wasn't even half as fun as last year. I dunno why. People started crying (albeit some were ignorant enough) for unknown reasons. I dunno whether to laugh or cry. The mood swings were so sudden, I feel awkward. And the food was just average.
I'm gonna miss a lot of people who were leaving tonight/tomorrow. They know who they are, even if I didn't say it right to their faces. They should know (or maybe they don't). *Cue regret music for keeping mum*
Needless to say, I'm in a melancholic state. Make that melancholic PLUS indolent.
Oh, folly. I soooo wish my pet's here with me now.Labels: college

This is totally random: Something that I longed to do after reading Aqilah's LJ post but never gotten round to do anything about it because of the vicious Internet connection.
It's a fangirl thing.
Who from *** [insert random JE band] would you pick as your best friend, brother, husband, lover, cousin, pet? Pick your favorite group and rank the members and answer why. If you pick a group with less than six members (like Arashi or something) then just eliminate whichever you want!

Of course I choose V6!
Best friend: Yoshihiko Inohara

After contemplating, I decided that a wacky friend will always cheer me up. His facial expressions, his personality...never fails to make me go tee-heeing and hahaha-ing all the way. He never failed to make me laugh with his antics (as shown on Gakkou)
Brother: Masayuki Sakamoto (Leader)
Yeah. He could pass as the mature/sane one in the family. I imagined him as someone who could get along with my dad and takes care of his little sisters well. I don't have a brother and imho, Otter (the closest thing I have to a brother) will never achieve even a quarter of Sakamoto's beautiful crooning voice (that can calm my fears/sadness) or evident hotness. Ever. EVER.
Husband: Hiroshi Nagano, a.k.a Mama. (Hahaha)
It's really hard to choose, really. Tough one between him and Leader (I mean, Masayuki Sakamoto). But who could possibly deny the charms of a guy who knows terribly a lot about good food and fast cars? The fact that he rarely gets mad at anything/anyone (the gentle soul that he is), gives great (albeit weird, sometimes) advice AND on top of all, he's a morning person (I would never object to be woken up in the wee hours of morning by him)-- he's just the perfect husband and future father figure. *I wish I could claim him for real*
Lover: *coughsandgulps* Junichi Okada/Hiroshi Nagano

Goes off to sing "I don't wanna do this anymore...I don't wanna be the reason why..." (See above --after having such a perfect husband, how could I possibly betray Hiroshi for Junichi??) Well. So Okada's hotter. But Nagano's sweeter. Aargh! *thinks of Tokyo Tower -- shivers*
Cousin: Go Morita

He has the typical, I-don't-give-a-damn-about-anything, bad boy image. All cousins are like that, ryte? *Stares at my REAL cousins* Okay, so maybe only my IMAGINARY cousins are like that.
Pet: Ken Miyake
I'm saving the best for last!!! He's sooooo adorable that I wouldn't have any guilt at all for cuddling him 24/7. If there was ever a show-and-tell session at school, I would bring him over and show him off to the whole class. Since I never had a pet (my parents won't allow it), I'm sure that they would approve of him in an instant. He'd be a hit with most of my friends too, I'm pretty sure. Who'd ever heard of anyone being jealous of someone's pet because he's....hot+cute, all in one?
I try not to be greedy. If I were to steal Arashi and other random make-believe husbands/brothers/cousins and what not...*blushes*
Let's not ruin my current infatuation with V6, ne?Labels: random infatuations

It is done.
All of the time I've spent in KYUEM has come down to this: the final paper; Chemistry Paper 5.
I wouldn't brag, neither would I fret. It is done, and I would rather talk about other sweet, happy, jovial things than burden myself with thousands of possible outcomes of this particular examination.
And I am in love. *grins*
List of things to do:
1) Watch Pirates, Shrek, Spiderman 3, HP, Fantastic Four, etc.
2) Watch Rome Season 2, Starter for Ten, and various other DVDs
3) Watch endless episodes of Japanese/Korean drama + anime + MS
4) Read an endless list of books that I've bought but haven't really gotten round to read them.
5) Download Gakkou e Ikkou *Don't look at me like that, Aqilah!*
6) Learn how to drive, cook, among many other things
7) Finish up all my on-hiatus, untitled fiction.
8) Get in touch with friends. Go out, have fun...you know the drill.
9) Prepare myself mentally for BTN
10) Prepare myself mentally for the exam results.

She loves to do all the cliché things that every other typical teenager does. Her taste in music expands from the bubbly years of pop to the emotional rants of goth-punk age. She loves football. She has a hard time choosing her favorite author. She’s a movie buff who is now starting her own DVD collection. And oh. She’s the ultimate couch potato. Did I mention that she’s that so-called future doctor?
